Growing up in New Orleans as one of eleven children, surrounded by delicious food, I had a childhood filled with love and warmth. Despite the abundance of food, I take full responsibility for my continuous weight gain—I cannot blame anyone or anything but myself. In 2010, weighing in at 298 lbs, I made the life-altering decision to undergo Gastric Bypass surgery. About Positive Intelligence®

The premise of Positive Intelligence®, developed by Shirzad Chamine (2012), is that certain modalities of the mind, prolonged “negative emotions”, sabotage one’s mental well being, performance, and relationships. These modalities are labeled “Saboteurs” and associated with the “Survivor Brain.” The positive modalities are labeled “Sage” and associated with the “PQ Brain”. Let Go of Saboteur States

When you detect a Saboteur state, refrain from engaging with associated thoughts and emotions. By releasing them instead of pursuing them, you weaken the grip of Saboteurs on your mind.

PQ Reps for Self-Command

Practice "PQ Reps" to diminish Saboteur responses and cultivate a Sage response. This repetitive exercise strengthens your ability to exercise Self-Command and remain in control of your thoughts and actions.

Each day a different focus for daily practice is assigned through a personalized companion app available exclusively to program participants.

Daily Focus

Weekly hour-long videos and daily 15-minute app-guided exercises.

The daily focus builds one small muscle at a time, laying down new neural pathways to form lasting positive habits of your mind. The cumulative impact by program’s end will be substantial.

Interactive PQ Gym

Includes guided sessions to practice and log PQ reps, a foundational practice for building your mental fitness.

Innovative 10-second PQ Reps build up your Self-Command muscle. You learn to be clear-headed and calm even in the midst of great challenges, able to command your mind to shift from Saboteur to Sage response.

POD

Support and accountability group, to meet once a week to discuss the week's training led by your coach, Tina.

When enrolled in the 6-week PQ Program, you will be included in a small group of up to five participants who are going through the program at the same time. Your “pod” is led by Tina and provides a community of support and accountability. You’ll meet weekly in one-hour virtual sessions to discuss each week’s training and be invited to share experiences and breakthroughs.

In these highly engaging videos, Shirzad guides you through experiential exercises that deepen and personalize your understanding of the mental fitness tools. You will be inspired and energized for the week’s daily practices.

Phase 2: The 7 Week Reboot

You will begin the 7 week Reboot Program to re-establish the “post-bariatric” guidelines that were first established when you had surgery. This 7 week Reboot will help you “reset” your pouch so that you can get back to eating smaller amounts of food. This is a metabolic reset plan to help former bariatric patients get back on track and lose weight again. We will be using Positive Intelligence techniques® (“PQ® reps”) to assist in boosting your Self-Command muscle to attain our health goals.

Using the Sage Perspective to look at our bariatric goals through the lens of a “gift and opportunity”.

Week 2

The Reboot Phase. 5 days of a “pouch reset” plan—a condensed version of the post operation diet.
